After keeping it going for the best part of a year, I've decided to retire this spartan guestbook. But fear not, you can still contact me and have your pearls of wisdom published elsewhere, if you (and I) like.

I'm researching the plight of Fijian Indians, in particular, the difficulty they have in tracing their lineage back to India, due to lack of government paperwork. I'm particularly interested in people's personal stories. I'm writing a play. Can you suggest any reading, or would you care to enlighten me with your views?

ps. I loved your article.

Rors, and the woman behind you, there's bad news from the swamp. Advent is off. But there has been a spectacular new placement of one of my kind. Almost as good as the car battery.

nice website. loved the bit about dot commies and its centralisation in san francisco. i'm thinking about moving there after graduation, not for the technology boom (though the locale is great, i'm a cs major), but for the city. i fell in love w/ it when i visited a couple of weeks ago. anyway, yeah, that's it. ;)

Thanks for the CRAPPY advice Rory! All you managed to do was get me arrested and my best friend shot.

Stick to comedy, not politics.

I've lent and lost my copies of Barry McKenzie; where can I buy some more?

I'm researching the 1987 Rabuka coup for background to the current events. I specifically remember reports that Rabuka met just hours prior to the coup with CINCPAC US military officials at Camp Smith, Hawaii. I also read unconfirmed reports in 87 of soldiers wearing uniforms unlike those of the Fijian armed forces. The US fear was that Bavadra was becoming the leader of a very dangerous Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific Movement, that threatened passage of US military ships through the South Pacific. NOW—I can find no info at all describing US responsibility for the historic precendent of fomenting coups to gain their way in the Pacific. Please reply... Mahalo/thanks from Honolulu.

I am of Indian Origin born in Kenya, East Africa, thus your website has been of particular interest to me about Fiji. I enjoyed reading your research papers and have passed your url to our forum for East African Asians who have made their homes in USA, Canada, UK... Your web site is well laid out and very informative. Do visit my web site and sign my guest book. With best wishes and regards from UK.

Hi ho Silver. Away.

About time the Changes were rung. I'm glad you found their number—probably in the back of an old phonebook I shouldn't wonder. And such a pleasantly colour-coded design, young man. Keep it up. Then let it go to bed for a well-deserved rest.
