I wiped it clean this morning.

My five-year-old daughter switched off the radio when the Radio Four news came on at breakfast. “Donald Trump, Donald Trump, I don’t want to hear about Donald Trump!”

I don’t want to either, but feel I should force myself to, because ignoring a problem won’t make it go away.

But what can those of us who live beyond the U.S. actually do?

It’s bad enough that Florida voted to drown themselves, but London and Tokyo are going to drown too.

At least whenever someone says that “a majority of Americans voted for Donald Trump”, we can correct them. Fat lot of good that does anyone, though.

When my daughter did it again the next day, I told her that, unfortunately, because he won the election, we would be hearing about Donald Trump on Radio Four for at least the next four years, to which she replied, “That means we can’t listen to Radio Four for the next four years.”
