The Angel of the North
Antony Gormley’s Angel of the North, Gateshead

This was where we were yesterday at around 1 p.m., on our way home from a couple of nights staying with friends down south. Driving up from the midlands on the M1/A1/A696/A68 takes all day, but at least the weather was okay. Of course it’s a rubbish time of year to take a day off work, because it just means facing twice the pile of email the next day, but after last year’s experience I concluded that it’s always a rubbish time of year. Which is oddly liberating.

That was why I was trying out the iPhone with the Movable Type back-end. I queued up those last few posts full of links and changed their status to Publish using the iPhone, which was about all I had time for at the end of each evening. But honour was preserved.
