The Flamingo

There is a lake in southern Spain
Unknown to any gringo
Where you can see, in view full plain,
The flaming pink flamingo
Arguing with all the rest
In his peculiar lingo
About which Beatle was the best:
John, Paul, George, or Ringo.

Natural Hazards

A bee or wasp or hornet sting
Is a most irritating thing
And one should never stand upon
The sharp end of a scorpion

It really is a grave mistake
To end up bitten by a snake
A funnel-web is even worse:
A one-way ticket to a hearse!

A chomp from a Komodo lizard
Shakes about the bravest gizzard
And tackling a Great White Shark
Is no-one’s idea of a lark

Nobody, that I’m aware,
Would fancy fighting with a bear
But quite the deepest kind of funk
Results from messing with a skunk.

Dancing Queen

In all the best clubs you will find an agouti
Flashing her molars and shaking her booty
Dancing in gold-lamé-covered resplendence
The envy of all South American rodents

The Carefree Life of Cavia cobaya

The guinea pig
Don’t give a fig
For ’e’s rich, inne?
’E’s worth one guinea.

Natural Hazards Emended

One service that some beasts provide
Is to enable suicide
Example: sea-snails called Conidae
Can execute your beachfront D-Day

Or, if in life you'd hate to tarry
Embrace a Chironex Fleckeri
In a rush to chat up God?
Harass a blue-ringed octopod

But, should you want an end serene
I would avoid the wolverine.
